I hate “mission” statements

There is so much that is artificial and contrived in today’s world, including just about all “mission statements” - and a whole lot of wine. I opened Authentica in 2008 for a very simple reason: I wanted to represent and support hardworking, sincere and authentic small artisan wine producers whose wines I found inspiring and worth drinking.

Although much has changed in the wine world I’m still inspired by those kinds of producers and their wines, and I work hard every week to bring them to the attention of my valued customers and wine club members. 

Authentica is not a typical wine shop. You won’t find silly “rewards” cards, phony promotions or wine of the month clubs that force feed you wines you might not choose for yourself. However, you will find a shop stocked with carefully curated artisan wines from around the world, many of which change weekly. And all displayed in a friendly, casual setting; with unpretentious, individualized customer service.

Hours may be limited, but our dedication to outstanding artisan wines that will inspire and speak to you is as strong today as it was when we first opened our big red, 12 foot high door on West Park Street in the very beginning.
